Up date information of my life in Bali

I am an architect who just lost my firm, got divorced and lost my dog in the same month, more information..?. I was on the verge of desperation when my mate from high school, Barney called and inform me to visit him in Bali. I have heard of this island several times before and how wonderful it is there, so I thought I'd give it a go. I packed just a bag of clothes, grab my paper and flew to Bali the next day.

It was 3 pm in the afternoon when I arrived, Barney picked me up and we drove back to his place. On the way I told him my story and he convinced me that I did the right thing by coming to Bali. He told me that I would get my peace here. We stopped to grab a beer in this amazing beach called Seminyak beach, it has the nicest people serving us with smiles on their faces. The sound of the wave crashing, the breezes, and the beer somehow turned into one magical cocktail. I felt like I am home in this Seminyak private luxury villa.

When we got to Barney's place it was the time for dinner and his Balinese wife, Kadek prepared a table full of Balinese delicacies. From grilled fish, prawns, squid, chicken with Balinese spices, and the fiery sambal matah. They've been married for 8 years now with two kids, where have I been? Barney is an architect and Kadek is a dancer. She teaches Balinese dances to the youngsters in the area and also tourists visiting, while Barney does the designing of people wanting to have their houses, villas, and shops built anywhere on the island. We talked almost about everything and somehow I envy them, its about time for me to have the same. Settle down, start a family, and living life to the fullest. We stayed up late and they suggested me to drive around the next day to "find" myself again.

I took a rental bike and went around the area to ask some information about Ubud villas In Bali. Driving passed the rice fields, I came across several development happening in the area. So I thought this could be an opportunity for me to work here and start something. I went to visit Barney at one of his projects and he showed me around. It is amazing to see his work and how the business is going well in Bali. Later on that day he took me around to see some of the island's architectural achievements, hook me up with some of the locals, and introduce me to the island life. I must say that I am falling in love slowly but surely.

After spending a month I ended up bought a small house close to my mate's and I met this wonderful girl who teaches me how to play percussions. I have overcome my losses and looking forward to a brand new life here onward. A small visit turned out to be a permanent destination. Bali has changed my life.
